Mango Lassi - the one way ticket to glowing skin!

Make your skin glow by sorting out your gut health with my delicious mango lassi recipe!

Mango what? – I hear most of you ask. Mango lassi's are delicious they are like milkshake’s and are served in the Indian subcontinent. They are my all time favourite drink, perfect as a dessert or as a drink, I want to stipulate a time here, but I am struggling to, as I can’t think of anytime where a mango lassi wouldn’t be perfect. I have one 5 out of 7 days, and my boys and Mr C also love them.

Growing up, we would go to Southall to eat out. Back in the day, there were only a few places you could get proper authentic desi style food. It was always a treat, but for me the best part was ordering my mango lassi. They really knew how to make them super yummy! I had no idea that it was also good for me and kept my digestive system in optimum health, by keeping my gut bacteria happy.

Happy gut biome is what it’s all about. Over the past few years the science is proving the more diverse your gut bacteria, the healthier you are. Making you less likely to be overweight, suffer from allergies and even protect you from dementia and of course give you amazing skin!

Eating foods that are fermented such as kefir, sauerkraut, miso and natural yoghurt, which are full of probiotic bacteria, all lead to happy healthy gut biome and great skin. Both yoghurt and kefir feature in my mango lassi recipe. As well as, turmeric (curcuma longa), which has shown to exhibit anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties and can be found in our Super Clarifying Organic Face Oil for Oily and Acne prone skin and our Bentonite Clay with Organic Hibiscus, Neem and Turmeric.

Go ahead and make my fav mango lassi, my version is super healthy but I promise you won’t know it when you are drinking it.

Here’s how…

Add the following to a blender (makes enough for 2):

200ml organic natural yoghurt,

200ml Kefir 200ml chosen milk,

200ml mango pulp or 2 chopped mangos (you can use fresh/ frozen or both),

1 teaspoon organic ground turmeric (or an inch size piece of fresh turmeric)

Turn on and blitz until smooth.

Taste it while it’s still in the blender, we tend to get alphonso mangos which are super sweet but if you feel you want to sweeten it up add maple syrup/honey to taste. Also if you prefer yours runnier or thicker add either more of your chosen milk or yoghurt.

I always add cinnamon and a sprinkling of the amazing super food chia seeds to ours.

Try these amazing organic products made with our food grade chia seed oil, which is packed with omega 3 fatty acids, polyphenols and age-defying antioxidants.
